Drivers license renewal tough

When applying to renew a drivers license, the DMV required all these documents. It would seem to me that if a person has 20 plus years of accident free driving, proof of residency would be enough. It would do away with a lot of confusion and reduce lines. It could even be handled through the mail. Improve the system, don’t confuse it more. Charles Randazzo, Fort Lauderdale

A 50 year old Delray Beach woman had an opened wine bottle and three bottles of pills that had been prescribed to other people, but no driver’s license, when she was stopped by a state trooper, according to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report. Friday in the area of Federal Highway and Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach , troopers said. A trooper smelled a “strong odor of alcoholic beverage” emanating from Auclaire’s vehicle, buy fake id according to the arrest report.
Legislature agrees to undo foreign drivers license law

TALLAHASEE Good news for foreign visitors planning to drive in Florida. The Florida Senate, by a 38 0 vote, signed off on a House measure that would undo a 2012 law requiring residents of foreign counties to obtain an international drivers permit in Florida. But federal prosecutors say Derek Denesevich liked to pretend to be other people by stealing their identities and using them to make money by filing fraudulent income tax returns.
